Just the FAQs

FAQs

Since we’ve just recently begun telling friends and coworkers about our seemingly crazy plans, understandably they have a number of questions. Funny thing is, everyone we tell seems to have a similar set of questions. Where are you going? How long? How much does that cost?

So I’ve made a Frequently Asked Questions page to address all of these questions and more. Check it out!

If there is anything I left off that you are wondering about, let us know in the comments and I’ll try to address it.

    What languages do you speak?
I’m guessing you don’t find English speakers in all the out of the way places you are traveling.

Thanks for the comment Susan. We speak some Spanish, enough to get by 🙂
We’ve actually been pretty surprised at the number of people we have met that can speak and understand some English, especially in the more remote destinations. We always try to at least learn “Please” and “Thank You” and have been relieved that most locals we’ve met have been pretty compassionate knowing we don’t speak the local language.
It’s fun meeting people looking to practice their English with fluent speakers and then we usually learn a few phrases in return.

That’s great to hear. We speak some German and some Spanish, but are certainly not fluent in either.
We love to travel, too, and since retiring last year have more time to do it.
Your adventures have inspired us to get going again! Thanks!
We look forward to hearing more about your travels in the future.
